Where Chloe's at

Last updated: 30/06/2008

My name is Chloe Spiteri. I am currently 18 years old and I see myself as hard working, determined and inspirational. Over the years I have overcome many barriers - educational, social and sports. This has helped me to gain many skills for life and to become a stronger person. I now want to use my experiences to go out there and be a role model for other young people. I currently compete in Freestyle wrestling – I’m in the GB squad and am ranked number one in England. I hope to improve this status over the next year. I have only been doing the sport for 10 months and whilst carrying out lots of training, I have also given up lots of my time to help out in the community by participating in funding panels, steering groups, youth forums as well as studying three A-Levels. Overall, I really want to go out there and show people that they can do anything if they set their mind to it, no matter what their ability is. If I can overcome a disability and get this far in life - I'm aiming for the London 2012 Olympics, about to start at a top sports University, have lots of sporting qualifications and experiences, do lots of voluntary work and education as well – then anyone can, even if it is just one of these goals!!

New year approaching = new goals!!

After such a few hard weeks, I have now told myself that it's time for me to work harder and make this dream of mine to come true!

Therefore I have decided that after the Christmas break I am going to train even harder and stay focused in my studies. I am very happy that I have my friends behind me because without them, I don't think I would be where I am. Some of these friends include...Kay, Karim, Fred, Anthony, Amy, Ola, Naomi, James, Alvin, Marvin, Conrad, Dennis and so many more...you know who you are.

My goals for the start of 2009 are going to be very HARD, but I have always set hard goals and achieved them. One of these goals is to do well in the upcoming English Championships. I hope to become the English Junior Champion for the 2nd year running or at least ranked 2nd!, Another one of these goals is to move to Manchester and train full time with the Great Britain squad, which means that I have to quit my current uni and transfer to Manchester uni in september, which is going to be very hard for me, especially with me already settled in at Brunel University and in the mean time travel to Manchester each week to train and study at the same time until I can transfer uni's. Finally I have to stay on track and take on this big challenge of training everyday, studying full time at university, being on a strict diet, as well as other challenges...BUT I believe I can do it and reach the TOP.

All I need now is your support! 2010 Commonweath Games and Euro Championships are just around the corner and need to compete in them to get to 2012! Please send me your comments and give me any advice that you think could help me. Epecially sponsorship because it's very hard for me to train full time and study full time and work on top. But thanks for all the support that I do get from people such as my mates I really appreciate it :)
