Where Chloe's at

Last updated: 30/06/2008

My name is Chloe Spiteri. I am currently 18 years old and I see myself as hard working, determined and inspirational. Over the years I have overcome many barriers - educational, social and sports. This has helped me to gain many skills for life and to become a stronger person. I now want to use my experiences to go out there and be a role model for other young people. I currently compete in Freestyle wrestling – I’m in the GB squad and am ranked number one in England. I hope to improve this status over the next year. I have only been doing the sport for 10 months and whilst carrying out lots of training, I have also given up lots of my time to help out in the community by participating in funding panels, steering groups, youth forums as well as studying three A-Levels. Overall, I really want to go out there and show people that they can do anything if they set their mind to it, no matter what their ability is. If I can overcome a disability and get this far in life - I'm aiming for the London 2012 Olympics, about to start at a top sports University, have lots of sporting qualifications and experiences, do lots of voluntary work and education as well – then anyone can, even if it is just one of these goals!!

Im so scared...how am I going to cope??

Hey everyone, hope your all cool and looking forward to Christmas!!

These past few weeks have been mad, in terms of competition, studying and family stuff!

I competed at the British Senior Championships on the 1st and came 2nd and last weekend competed in the Aspull International competition in Wigan and came 1st place.

As well as this, I am proud of myself to achieve one of my main yeardot/life goals which is to be selected to be in the senior Great Britain squad last week based on my performance and achivements. However this is a huge problem for me seeing as I have already started at university and the training is in Manchester :( what to do? The options for me at the moment are to train in Manchester every other week 3 times a week and miss lectures and catch up at the weekends with them, or wait to see if I can transfer to Manchester Uni which will be much easier. But I'm enjoying it so much at the uni I'm currently at (Brunel) and have made the greatest mates you could ask for and really don't want to have to change :( and therefore I'm in a big dilema at the minute!!!!

Also lately I have been training hard with the University's Women Rugby Team and getting ready for a hard match against UWIC on Wednesday, celebrating my birthday which was ok but not the best birthday I have had, studying hard because I have so much exams coming up and coursework due!!

It's just too much going on at the moment and I really need your support and advise. Especially if you know anyone who can sponsor me because when I start this travelling to Manchester weekly, it is going to be very costly for me. But thanks to Tarbrook Construction that are giving me the support I'm getting because I think I would have given up by now without them!!
